Hi Pat. I tend to shoot fairly tight. I use longer lenses and just select 1 or 2 areas I want to shoot, then focus into those areas. i also try to time short bursts at the right time versus others who just hold the shutter button down for a few seconds! The dressage pic was interesting. I had never been and after 2 hours and lots of shots I just wasn't capturing anything special. So instead of stopping the movement, I slowed the shutter speed down and panned. The low stadium light helped as well and that was the result!

Very nice work. Just wondering, are you shooting that tight, for instance on the agility shots, or are they cropped tight? I loved the dressage picture.

Hey Mark,
What wonderful photos! I especially like the dog shots. You can tell you really enjoy being with them and get such good action shots too. The landscapes and sunrises and sunsets are great too. You are really good at this!

Mark,
Nice pics of your dogs. We just got a Golden in March. She's 3mo old now and loves to chew on our (her) cat. Our min. dachshund tolerates her.

It's nice to see what we have to look forward to. We might have to get another though.

Great galleries - particularly like the Dogs @ Play. Some top shots in there and what look to be some wonderful memories. I just finished a dog calendar in time for New Year (any proceeds will go to the local SPCA in Singapore). I'm looking forward to shooting a lot more pics of dogs out here, and will be checking back here to hopefully see many more also! Kind regards & all the best for the new year.

Hello Mark!

You have some fantastic images here of dogs, I really enjoyed them. I own one too, and despite its age of 11 years, its still jumping around, but I had quite a hard time to photograph it in action, maybe due to my non-dslr old-cam, and now, since I got my drebel, my dog is just to lazy grr. I can really appreciate what you did there. Did you use any special gadgets to make him jump or run? Another person pheraps?
Have a fine day, Michael

Thank you for your kind comments about your work. Ehjoyed looking at your landscapes and also the dog images. My daughter in law (Emma Parsons) just wrote book about "clicker training" as invented by Karen Prior. It is called "Click to Calm" and Emma is shown in her book with her Golden "Ben" You might want to check it out.
